Freshly out of a victory over Carlos Alcaraz in the Wimbledon final, Jannik Sinner was clearly not himself on Monday in a revenge match of the rivals and the two best players in the world.
Sinner retired with an apparent disease in the first set of the Cincinnati Open final on Monday against Alcaraz after having widened a deficit of 5-0. The sinner remained on the ground for the trophy ceremony and approached his state while speaking with the crowd. He did not offer details, but said that he “did not feel well”.
