Analysis: For whom should Real Madrid have their final point for the team?

Real Madrid launched its campaign on Tuesday evening, with a less than exciting 1-0 victory against Osasuna. The most exciting part of the match was undoubtedly the introduction of Franco Mastanuono, who had an impact during his first appearance.

After a dismal season which saw them not winning silverware apart from UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup, Los Blancos has re -touted their team and became much younger. The second fate of Carlo Ancelotti (66) at the club would end after four years, Xabi Alonso (43) replacing his former manager in Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. They renovated their background line with the signatures of Dean Huijsen who joined Bournemouth for 60 million euros, while they also paid 10 million euros to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold in Liverpool in order to participate in the World Cup of the FIFA Club, after having agreed to sign it on a free transfer, and signed the left Spanish Alvaro Carratas of Benfica for € 50m.

Their youngest recruit, on the other hand, was only 18 years old: Franco Mastantuono. Los Blancheos paid 45 million euros to sign the Argentinian Wonderkid of River Plate to a six -year contract, which was assigned to the number 30 shirt, just as he had brought to River. While he was immediately enrolled in Real Madrid Castilla to release a place in the first team for a potential late move, the young attacker already trains with and for all useful purposes, part of the senior team.

Real Madrid has set out to go out and make a late summer transfer, but with a little more than a week at the window, time behaves to do so. This raises the question – which should consider a potential arrival of deadline?

After having set in motion a reconstruction in each defensive position outside the goalkeeper, Alexander-Arnold (26) replacing Lucas Vazquez (34) at the rear right, and Huijsen (20) replacing Jesus Vallejo (28) in central defense. It seemed that Carreras (22) would take the place of Ferland Mendy (30) on the left back, but so far, the Frenchman seems to stay in Madrid, where he has a contract until 2028. However, there are reasons to believe that they could be due for another upgrade on the central back.

Eder MilitΓ£o (27) and David Alaba (33) have spent more time on the processing table than on the field in recent seasons, while Antonio Rudiger is starting to watch his 32 years with a number of high -level errors in recent matches. While Alaba and Rudiger should leave the expiration of their contracts in 2026, Real Madrid would target the arrival of the center of Liverpool Ibrahima Konate, which is entering the last months of its agreement. It is likely that real will wait and try another high level transfer after Kylian Mbappe, but a trembling start to the season or an early crisis of injuries could try their hand and see them table a late offer for the Konate.

There is a good chance, however, that an unexpected signature will come in the midfield rather than defense. Los Blancheos is found in the short term after the legendary midfielder Luka Modric as well as the absence of Jude Bellingham, which will be absent until October after undergoing shoulder surgery. Eduardo Camavonga, who missed 33 games in 2024/25 due to an injury, recovered from an ankle sprain, which means that Alonso’s only options in the midfield for the opening matches are Mastantuono, Arda Guller, Dani Ceballos, Brahim Diaz and Aurelien Tchouame.

It is certainly a solid base for an argument that Los Blancos should invest again in the middle of the field, seeing how much he fought last season without Kroos, and with Modric on the Wane. Alonso is also in favor of the arrival of a midfielder if we believe the reports, but Los Blancos has already moved for Mastantuono, Carreras and Huijsen, the Alonso players were eager for the club to bring.
