Six relegated golfers from Liv Golf League after the campaign in 2025

The Liv Golf League, which started in 2021, continued to gain popularity, the 2025 season officially concluded on Sunday.

The league end -of -year rules differ considerably from the PGA Tour. The classification is divided into three zones: locking area, open area and relegation. The top 24 golfers automatically secure their places for next season, while those classified from 25 to 48 can stay in the league, but their current teams are not forced to re-sign them if they are on an expiring contract.

At the bottom of the ranking is the relegation area. This year, six players who finished 49th or less were relegated after the final Sunday tournament in Indianapolis.

Relegated

Relegated players include the 2016 Open champion Henrik Stenson, co-captain of the majestic; Mito Pereira; Andy Ogletree; Yubin Jang; Anthony Kim; And Frederik Kjettrup, which ended the season with no point.

The relegation system in Liv golf is ruthless, but it undoubtedly adds competitiveness to each tournament and grants a bonus on coherence.

This year, Liv’s golf star and the future member of the Ryder Cup, Bryson Dechambeau, weighed on the system and how the league could evolve to move forward. Relegation, in particular, was something he suggested using adjustments.

“I would say that there are definitely reasons on which we can change certain things,” said Dechambeau. “Certainly relegation, for sure, more tracks to Liv. I think that a world tour, more association for a world tour would be ideal for a live food system.

How can LIV players come back from relegation

While the six relegated players are now technical outside the league, the door is not completely closed. They always have the possibility of returning to the field, whether by climbing in the top 48 through the international series or the promotions of Golf Liv.

The next promotional tournament is expected to start Riyad Golf Club on December 12 in Saudi Arabia. His only goal is that the players help and win their place in the Liv Golf League.
