The third suspect as part of launching sex toys at WNBA games is arrested in New York

Another suspect accused of having disrupted a WNBA match by launching a green sex toy was arrested. Charles Burgess, 32, was arrested on Wednesday by New York police after allegedly launched a sex toy in a New York Liberty match, according to several media.

The police said that during the match, which took place on August 5 at the Barclays Center in New York, Burgess ranked smuggling in a green sex toy and launched the toy on the field. The toy did not reach the court and rather hit a 12 -year -old girl in the stands, by police.

Burgess would be confronted with a multitude of criminal accusations, including several chiefs of assault, interfering with a professional sporting event, an imprudent endangerment, harassment and obscenity, according to athletics.

Burgess’s lawyer Paul d’Emilia told athletics in an email that the accusations were “exaggerated” and that his client went. Burgess went to Brooklyn de l’Ohio, where he has a car shop and lives with his wife and six children, to cooperate with the authorities.

D’Emilia told Athletic that Burgess is an “occasional fan” of the WNBA and denied that he was involved in previous incidents.

“Mr. Burgess intends to vigorously fight these embellished and exaggerated accusations. There seems to be video evidence that no one was really struck by the object thrown, making any of the accusations of aggression included,” said Emilia.

D’Emilia said prosecutors have shown interest to speak with the defense to combat others participation in the gust of sex toys that interrupted at least six different WNBA games from the end of July to early August.

A cryptocurrency group was previously the credit of certain incidents, saying that sex toys were a form of guerrilla marketing. It is not clear if Burgess has a link with this group.

Burgess is the third person to be arrested as part of sex toy incidents. Delbert Carver, 23, was arrested in Georgia after alleging a sex toy on the field in a dream match in Atlanta. A few days later, Kaden Lopez, 18, was arrested for doing the same during a Phoenix Mercury match. Lopez’s throw did not reach the field, but rather hit a fan who was in the match with his nine years.
